Dance Instructor with experience in tap, ballet, jazz and baton (hip hop is a plus as well) is needed in Milestone for 2008/09 dance year. Milestone is a half hour drive south of Regina and had 35 recreational dancers this year. Salary will be determined by experience, mileage and enrollment. Please call asap!!! The Saskatchewan Express Regina Musical Theatre Studio is seeking accredited Jazz, Tap and Ballet Teachers for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year. The ideal teacher will possess a reverence for dance and Theatre in all its facets and have the ability to impress this upon students. The teacher will foster an appreciation of all performance categories, which will extend to students, parents, and others.

We have extremely high expectations for student achievement and behavior, and a performance-oriented school culture. We are looking for a teacher whose classroom experience and attitude exemplifies these ideals.
• Uses variety of instructional methods and curriculum resources to present material to students.

• Administers different forms of student assessments, communicates with parents and other team members about student progress, and plans for further instruction.

• Emphasizes the importance of technical vocabulary.

• Understands and implements general dance theories and practices

• Develops cross-curricular units with vocal and drama teachers

• Emphasizes a process-based approach to dance instruction

• Differentiates instruction based on the needs of the students in each classroom.

• Plans and organizes school and community dance events, such as concerts and dance-in-residence programs

• Organizes and directs a dance team

• Organizes, implements, and oversees rehearsals for performance group

Job Requirements
* A background in Musical Theatre
* Proficiency in dance education subject matter
* Ability to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and
communicate effectively with parents.
* At least 4 years previous teaching experience
* Previous work (professional) references.
* Previous choreography experience and ability to choreograph large
production numbers.

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School seeks a full-time ballet teacher for the 2008-2009 school year. The RWB School is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to the training of professional dancers and dance teachers. Attracting students from across Canada and around the world, the RWB School enjoys an enrolment of approximately 100 to 120 students in its full-time Professional Division programs. Over 1,000 local students are registered in its Recreational Division that includes the operation of Satellite Programs in rural Manitoba. The School enjoys a full calendar with intensive summer programs also offered annually.
This position will teach within the Professional Division Teacher Training Program and the Recreational Division. Candidates must hold a minimum of an Associate Diploma from the Cecchetti Society ISTD and be eligible to enter students in the major Cecchetti examinations. They will have experience in teaching pedagogy, ballet to students of all ages and pointe work as well as be able to choreograph for recitals, festivals and other School performances.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a clean Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry check.

A full-time teaching position is available at Stage West School of Performing Arts for a fully qualified ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. This is a permanent position commencing September 2008. The position will include scheduling of classes to implement primary to advanced levels of the R.A.D. ballet syllabus, preparation and entry of students for exams, and choreography for festival competitions and shows. Rate of pay is negotiable.

Stage West is a performing arts school for boys and girls ages three and up. It is located in Port Alberni, in the center of Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. The majority of students are girls between the ages of three and eighteen years of age. Lessons are offered in Ballet (R.A.D.), Tap and Modern (I.S.T.D.), Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Strength and Stretch and Pilates. The Performing Arts Intensive Dance Program is designed to provide a high level of training with carefully planned progressive classes in dance. Students are required to take ballet, and they may choose from a variety of the other classes offered. Average enrollment is 300+ students each year. The school also offers drama and art lessons.

Hinton School of Dance is a vibrant multi-disciplinary school that has been in operation since 1998. We offer Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre to all ability levels, with classes for very young children through to adults.



We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our instructional team, teaching in the Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop programs. The successful candidate will have extensive experience teaching a broad range of ability levels in these disciplines, as well as in choreography. Related dance teacher training and/or post-secondary educational experience is required. We offer a full time position with competitive wages.

ANGIKA are looking for professional female Bharatanatyam dancers to work full time with the company for a total period of 5 months from Monday 2nd June to end of October 2008 (subject to funding). This work would involve the creation and national tour of a new work by ANGIKA as well as learning existing company repertoire for (confirmed) performances in Europe.

Flex Your Art at the Fringe
 Flex has been created to help emerging performers of all ages get their art and their name into the public eye. We’re looking for performers beginning their professional careers to feature in the 2008 Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival.
 Whether actor, circus performer, musician or otherwise, if you have a show, we have a variety of indoor and outdoor venues available. You will be in the 2008 Fringe program alongside all other performers and will earn the proceeds of your show.
 Flex performers are also eligible for free workshops with industry professionals covering a wide range of topics from publicity to scriptwork to refining your creative direction.
 Flex evolved out of the 2004-2007 Youth Arts Initiative and the belief that artists should have the opportunity to explore new directions in performance, regardless of age.
