Dance Saskatchewan is calling for proposals from its members to develop and direct one of 5 performance events known as the ‘Dance on the Saskatchewan Series’. In the past there have been a variety of themes that included a musical theatre night, multicultural themes, a dance party and a performance by emerging and professional dancers.

There is an expectation that proposal will reflect the strategic priorities of Dance Saskatchewan. By example, the proposal may include responding to the ‘Calls to Action’, collaborative work that is inclusive of the varied and diverse membership, incorporate opportunity for audience engagement in pre or post performance activity, and is inclusive of the dance community from outside of Saskatoon.

Dance Saskatchewan Inc. joins provincial dance organizations all across the country in the celebration of International Dance Day - April 29th, 2018. Performance Groups of all ages and genres are invited to participate.

Many of our members are hosting events and free workshops throughout the weekend in honor of National Dance Week and International Dance Day. We encourage everyone to get involved!

Initiated in 1982 by the International Dance Committee of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute, International Dance Day falls on April 29 of every year. Since 2005, the Canadian Dance Assembly has issued a Canadian message in conjunction with the UNESCO message. This year, CDA invited Vivine Scarlett of dance Immersion to share her inspirational message to all Canadians.
