NEW MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND BENEFITS

Thank you to all those members who renewed memberships for the 2010 - 2011 year.  Memberships expired September 30, 2010 and an extension was provided to existing members to January 1, 2011.  All those who renewed prior to January 1, 2011 hold valid membership.   

Effective January 2011, the Dance Saskatchewan Inc. Board of Directors has approved a new membership policy which reflects greater diversity in membership and identifies the benefits of membership in each category.

Membership Categories and Benefits are as follows:

Dance Professional - Individual

Individual Dance Professional:

Requirements:

  • must be earning income as a dance professional
  • must be legal voting age

 

Fee: $40

Benefits:

  • voting privileges
  • receives DSI e-news, directory and mail outs
  • discounted master classes, workshops, drop-in classes, etc.
  • corporate discounts
  • discounted rate for dance floor rental
  • discounted dance space in the DSI Centre
  • discounted massages at the DSI Centre
  • ability to purchase discounted SOCAN license
  • ability to enclose advertising material in mail outs
Dance Professional - Dance Company

Dance Company:

Requirements:

  • registered as a corporation or non-profit corporation
  • must be creating and/or presenting dance
  • performers are being compensated for performances and do not pay a fee to train

 

Fee: $50

Benefits:

  • a membership card where representation is designated
  • voting privileges (one vote for the company)
  • receives DSI e-news, directory and mail outs (representative only)
  • discounted master classes, workshops, drop-in classes, etc. (all Company members)
  • use of DSI's Resource Centre (all Company members)
  • corporate discounts (representative only)
  • discounted dance space in the DSI Centre
  • discounted rate for dance floor rental
  • discounted member rate for the dance floor
  • ability to purchase SOCAN license at discounted rat
Dance Professional - Non-Resident

Non-Resident:

Requirements:

  • individuals residing outside Saskatchewan

 

Fee: $25

Benefits:

  • receives DSI e-news, directory and mail outs
  • ability to purchase SOCAN license at reduced rate
Non-Professional - Adult

Adult:

Requirements:

  • must be legal voting age

 

Fee: $30

Benefits:

  • a membership card
  • voting privileges
  • receives DSI e-news, directory and mail outs
  • discounted master classes, workshops, drop-in classes, etc.
  • use of DSI's resource centre
  • corporate discounts
  • discounted massages at the DSI Centre
  • discounted rate for floor rental
Non-Professional - Youth

Youth:

Requirements:

  • must be between 13 and 18 years of age

 

Fee: $15

  • corporate discounts
Non-Professional - Child

Child:

Requirements:

  • must be between 0 and 12 years of age

Non-Professional - Supporter

Supporter:

Requirements:

  • must be legal voting age

 

Fee: $25

Non-Professional - Sponsored

Sponsored:

Requirements:

  • must be youth

 

Fee: $10 (received from Sponsor)

Benefits:

  • receives DSI e-news
  • ability to participate in designated DSI activities
Non-Professional - Family

Family:

Requirements:

  • must have a least one person of legal voting age

 

Fee: $40

Benefits:

  • a membership card
  • voting privileges (for representative)
  • receives DSI e-news, directory and mail outs
  • discounted master classes, workshops, drop-in classes, etc.
  • use of DSI's resource centre
  • corporate discounts
  • discounted massages at the DSI Centre (limited to 2 persons)
Non-Professional - Group

Group:

Requirements:

  • must be a dance school, dance studio, amateur dance group, community dance organization, associations of dance, associations of teachers of dance, service organizations, educational institutions

 

Fee: $50

Non-Professional - Business

Business:

Requirements:

  • must be a corporation, non-profit corporation, sole proprietor or individual of legal voting age

 

Fee: $60

  • ability to enclose advertising material in DSI mail outs
