In 1982 the International Dance Committee of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute initiated International Dance Day which falls on April 29 of every year.
Since 2005, Canadian Dance Assembly has released a message in conjunction with The UNESCO Message - highlighting the passion and excellence in dance within our own borders.
