In the Toronto Board Room of the RBC Foundation Annie Wood accepted the contrct as Artistic Director for RBC Dominion Securities 2007 Dare to Dance.

Artistic Director, DanceFuzion
Annie Wood is a critically acclaimed choreographer, sensitive teacher as well
as a dynamic and diverse dancer. Her energy is passionate and truly contagious!
Ms. Wood is the founder and Artistic Director of DanceFuzion. A Canadian company
that is committed to providing excellence in dance education, artistic training
and industry exposure to young, aspiring talent, Dance Teachers and Dance Audiences.
In the spring of 2003, Annie launched a performance division to DanceFuzion.
It is known as company Verve! Company Verve made their debut performance in
Toronto FFIDA'S 2003 International Dance Festival. They received rave reviews
in The Globe and Mail as well as the Toronto Star! Annie hopes to mark this
company as an internationally recognized Jazz Company that contributes to the
education of young professionals and to dance audiences around the world.
Annie is a sought after choreographer, working in both the artistic community
and business/commercial industry. Some of Ms. Wood's choreography credits include:
Choreography for Dance Ontario's 2007 and 2005 Dance weekend at Premiere Dance
Theatre in Toronto. Toronto's International Fringe Festival 2003, 2004, 2005,
and 2006. Awards Ceremony for The Ontario's Gymnastics Federation 2006. Artsweek
Toronto 2004, Junction Arts Festival 2004 and 2006, The Art of Fashion Benefit
for Breast Cancer, The NBA Toronto Raptors Dance Pak, DeerHurst Resort's Sing
2002 Revue, The musical Comedy, Bollywood or Bust presented at the Ford Centre
for Performing Arts, Regent Cruise Lines, The Toronto International Teen Movie
Festival, Toronto's premiere production of Just Jazz, The Choreographer's Ball,
Several Live Industrials such as: Hyundai, Bell Mobility, Pfizer, CIBC, Rogers
AT&T, Grinnell Fire Protection, Career Edge and many others. She has presented
work for the prestigious aids benefit, Dancers for Life 2000 at Torontos
HummingBird Centre featuring artists Gregory Hines and Rex Harrington. Likewise,
her work has appeared on several television networks including Much More Music,
Global, CTV, TSN, TMN, Rogers and CBC.
Annie has also performed all over the world. Some of her performing credits
include: Don't tell mama Fosse Cabaret, The Kings of Swing, A tribute to Frank
Sinatra, Broadway reviews on Princes Cruise Lines, Vegas revues on Carnival
Cruise Lines, Tours to the Middle East and to Alert for the Military Troops,
Live industrials for corporate events including Hyundai, Molson, CIBC, Pfizer,
and Bell to name a few. She has appeared on stage with John Secada, Nelly Furtado,
M2M, Jack Soul and Shawn Desmond. She has appeared in videos for Amanda Marshall,
Alanis Morrisette, and David Michael Anthony. Her film credits include Blues
Brothers 2000, Superstar! And Year of the Phoenix.
Currently, Ms. Wood holds faculty positions at Sheridan College and at George
Brown Dance College in Toronto. She has taught across Canada at schools including:
Ryerson University, The Randolph Academy for performing Arts, Quinte Ballet
School, Alberta Ballet School, Cawthra Park Secondary School, Unionville Secondary
School, Rosedale Heights School for the Arts and many competitive Schools. She
has also taught throughout the United States. She is a highly sought after dance
adjudicator at reputable festivals including, American Dance Awards, Dance Masters
of America, Dance Dance Dance, Dforce, Terpichore and others. Annie continues
to pursue her love of dance and choreography and she believes that perseverance
and a positive attitude are the key to success!
